Kingston & leatherhead ranch are delighted to recognise the following breweries and pubs as lockdown heroes - all have been sent a certificate recognising their contribution to local community throughout the Covid-19 pandemic
Big Smoke Brewery, Esher / The Park Brewery, Kingston / Brightwater Brewery, Claygate
All 3 local breweries have worked tirelessly over recent months to supply beer throughout the local community and beyond. Big Smoke set up an app and were running food deliveries to those in need within a couple of weeks of lockdown in March. Park Brewery went from having no online presence to being able to supply beer nationally within a matter of weeks. Brightwater Brewery being a small 5 barrel operation have continued to make deliveries of their beer, despite having limited staff through a large part of the year - a real labour of love.
Willoughby Arms - Kingston
Current branch joint pub of the year - has continued to serve a range of ales from local and regional breweries - a real hub of the community in North Kingston, and one of the few pubs in the branch to remain open all through the pandemic - serving takeaway customers as well as opening for drinking in when allowed to.

The Victoria in Oxshott is understood to have been bought for £2M by someone living on the nearby Crown Estate
Park Brewery’s recent crowdfunding campaign was very successful, raising £230,000 which will be used to hire more staff, strengthen the digital marketing team, increase capacity, purchase an extra tank and sort out cold storage
Walton Village has started offering local cask ales, initially two from Big Smoke. - This will hopefully continue once pubs are allowed to reopen
