Campaign for Real Ale

Welcome

Welcome to the website of the Kingston and Leatherhead Branch of the Campaign for Real Ale (CAMRA). CAMRA’s vision is to have quality real ale, cider and perry and thriving pubs in every community. As the local branch we support this vision by:

  • Running an extensive programme of meetings and social events that are strongly focused on supporting local pubs and breweries, and
  • Actively campaigning for pubs and real ale, for example by direct lobbying of local politicians and defending pubs under threat of redevelopment using the local planning system.

There are many ways that branch members can help us realise CAMRA’s vision, for example by submitting beer quality scores to help us shortlist pubs for the Good Beer Guide, attending our events or volunteering at our beer festival.

We urgently require a volunteer to act as our Pub Preservation Officer so that we can take effective action to protect local pubs that come under threat of closure or redevelopment. This is an essential role that the branch must undertake in order for CAMRA to fulfil its national remit as a campaigning organisation. Further information is available here Pub Protection Officer
